District Team Player
The District Player Development Program identifies and trains Under-12 players who are interested in competing at an elite level. The details of the District program are currently under review and will be finalized before the start of the new year. The intention at this time is for the Under-12 teams to train over the summer and play games against other District teams. Players may be scouted at any time to join the current team for training during the summer. The Huronia Under-12 teams will play in the Regional ID Tournament (usually in September) where they may be selected to train for the final Regional team. The final Regional team will then compete against other Regions for a chance to join the Provincial Under-13 development squads. The District Player Identification sessions are a scouting and coaching tool used to identify the most talented young players and introduce them to High Performance Training for a future career in soccer.
